Joining the Tabernacle Rescue Squad Team

When you join the Tabernacle Rescue Squad team, you join an experience: an experience that will make a difference in your life, in the lives of your loved ones, and in the lives of the people in your community.

The Tabernacle Rescue Squad currently offers four different types of membership:

1. Active: This membership classification is for people who are interested in becoming or are already a New Jersey State Licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

2. Special Operations: This membership classification is for people 18+ who are interested in emergency services but may not want to do be a firefighter or EMT. The primary responsibility of these members is to respond to motor vehicle accidents within Tabernacle Township.

3. Associate: This membership classification is for people who are currently EMT's and a member of another 9-1-1 EMS organization. They must be available to provide help when needed.

4. Cadets: This membership classification is for people ages 16-18 who want to become involved in the squad but due to child labor laws are prohibited from participating in certain functions of the squad.

Exceptional Training

Your experience will start with training in every aspect of basic emergency medical care or emergency rescue techniques and based on your membership a combination of both. This specialized training as a volunteer is provided free  of charge and will be an asset to you and your family for the rest of your life.

Option Two Program

Lenape Regional High School District students will be awarded high school credit for training to be an EMT as described below:

1. Option 2 credit earned under this program counts as elective credit.

2. An official transcript or grade report from the EMT course institution will be required at the end of the course to award credits.

3. EMT credit will be recorded on the transcript as a Pass and will not be calculated into GPA or class rank.

4. 5 credits can be earned upon successful completion of Emergency Medical Technician certification program.

5. Students must Join the Tabernacle Rescue Squad (Or Local EMS Squad) to attend this course.

6. Additional 5 credits can be earned by completion of hours under the Community Service portion of Option 2.

So How Do I Join?

To become a member of Tabernacle Rescue Squad you must apply. Membership is open to everyone over the age of sixteen (16). No experience is necessary; you will have the opportunity to partake in all the training you will need, and much more. If you are already qualified as an EMT, nurse, physician, or other expertise in the health services or emergency services, your experience is valuable to our organization. To apply and begin your process of becoming a member, please fill out the form below and someone from our membership committee will contact you with more information and provide you with the squad’s membership application.

Once your membership application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by our membership committee. You may be asked to submit yourself to a background check. If you are under the age of eighteen (18), your membership will be considered at the Cadet status and will be subject to approval by your parent or guardian.
